Disciplinary Action against Everette E. Nelson, D.C. (1980)
In 1980, the New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners disciplined that Everette E. Nelson, D.C., for using improper allergy testing. The board’s order (shown below), states: In 1977, the board charged that Everette had conducted allergy testing for profit by employing “chiropractic neurobiochemical analysis” on approximately 400 patients. The testing was conducted without reasonable evidence of scientific validity or efficacy. One patient was tested by placing placement of glass vials containing food substances upon her clothing over the area of her back. Based upon this test, Nelson concluded the woman was physically reacting to certain elements that were affecting her physical well-being and recommended food supplements as treatment for her.
