Disciplinary Action against George Allibone, M.D.

In 2017, as shown below, the Texas Medical Board charged George W. Allibone, M.D. with violating the standard of care and keeping inadequate records in connection with his treatment of three patients. It also charged him with violating the confidentiality and physician-patient boundaries of two of the patients. Allibone tried to halt the proceedings by suing the board and its members, but the suit and a subsequent appeal were dismissed. In 2018, Allibone signed an agreed order under which the board concluded that he had improperly teated two of the patients (Patients 1 and 2, below) and required him to (a) revise his consent forms, (b) pass a special purpose examination (SPEX) that tests general medical knowledge (c) complete at least eight hours of continuing …
