Disciplinary Actions against Pieter J. De Wet, M.D.
Pieter J. De Wet, M.D., who owns and operates the Quantum Healing Institute & Tyler Total Wellness Center in Tyler, Texas, has been disciplined three times for advertising activities that the Texas Medical Board considered false and/or misleading. In 2005, as shown below, he agreed to pay an administrative penalty of $1,000 to settle charges that he had caused the dissemination of an advertisement which falsely stated that chelation therapy could unblock blood vessels and enable a patient to avoid coronary bypass surgery. Texas regulations prohibit advertising claims of certification by boards that are not recognized by American American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS).
