Disciplinary Action against Gerald Wendall Miller, M.D.
The Oregon Medical Board has reprimanded Gerald Miller, M.D. fined him $2,000, and limited how he could practice. Miller formerly practiced in Beaverton, Washington, where he represented himself as practicing “anti-aging” medicine and specializing in nutrition and dietary counseling. The board’s action was based on his mismanagement of six patients. In five of the cases, he diagnosed “hypothyroidism” even though the patient’s laboratory tests were normal, and in all six he prescribed toxic amounts of thyroid hormone.
