License Revocations of Hellfried Sartori, M.D.
In 1984, the State of Maryland revoked the license of Hellfried Sartori, M.D. based on charges of professional incompetence. Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington followed suit in 1985, and Texas (see below) did so in 1987. Maryland’s action was based on the following grounds: Reliance upon unvalidated tests (hair analysis, cytotoxic testing, thermography, and the Heidelberg pH test) Use of invalidated treatment modalities (EDTA chelation therapy) Inadequate medical records for nine patients Overutilization of six types of standard diagnostic tests Unsupported diagnoses Inadequate after-hours office coverage Serious deficiencies of cognitive knowledge. During the proceedings, members of the University of Maryland School of Medicine faculty members who interviewed Sartori concluded that he was “seriously deficient in medical knowledge and clinical judgment” and that “no remedial education program …
