Disciplinary Action against Mark L. Schwartz, D.O..

In April 2012, Mark L. Schwartz, D.O. and the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners entered into a consent order (shown below) under which he was reprimanded for “prescribing anabolic steroid and human growth hormone tor purposes other than accepted medical necessity, and failing to maintain a complete record for one patient. The board’s order requires him to (a) cease practicing “anti-aging medicine” and complete a record-keeping course. In November 2012, GEICO filed a lawsuit which alleged that Schwartz and his company, MLS Medical Group, LLC, had improperly collected hundreds of thousands of dollars by doing unnecessary testing, attracting patients by offering kickbacks, and filing fraudulent insurance claims within New Jersey’s no-fault personal injury system.
