Naturopath Steven MacPherson Charged with Unprofessional Conduct
The Washington Department of Health’s Board of Naturopathy has charged Steven MacPherson, N.D. with unprofessional conduct. The statement of charges, shown below, indicates: An unlicensed woman named Tanya Hunter operated a business called “Belle-Petite” which marketed a weight-loss program that that human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). MacPherson prescribed hCG for seven clients of Belle-Petite after reviewing a health history intake form and interviewing the them for approximately 15 minutes” via Skype. Hunter sold them the hCG and managed their program. MacPherson never saw the patients in person or provide any follow-up care. In 2012, a health law judge signed an agreed cease-and-desist order finding that Hunter had engaged in the unlicensed practice of medicine.
