A Sacramento Superior Court Judge has upheld the license revocation of Dr. Garey Lee Weber D.P.M.. He is the former owner of a large Southern California podiatry group. The Doctors Foot and Ankle Centers has locations in Studio City, Irvine, and Victorville. Dr. Weber will no longer be permitted to practice podiatric medicine in California.

Superior Court Judge Lloyd Connelly denied two challenges Dr. Weber made to the California Board of Podiatric Medicine’s authority to revoke his license. The Judge issued an order that now allows the Board’s revocation of his license to take effect. Dr. Weber was has 30 days to appeal this latest action.

In 1987, the Board and the Attorney General filed an unfair business practices case against Dr. Weber and several other podiatrists. In a 1990 settlement, Dr. Weber was permanently banned from using certain medical procedures, advertising and billing practices. The Court also awarded the Board $420,000 in costs against the podiatrists and ordered Dr. Weber to begin a three-year court supervised monitoring program.

Over the years, the Board of Podiatric Medicine continued to receive many complaints about Dr. Weber. In 1999, the Board put Dr. Weber’s license on probation after determining he was grossly negligent in treating several patients.

On May 4, 2001, the Board voted to revoke Dr. Weber’s license because he violated terms and conditions of his probation. Judge Connelly kept the revocation on hold, until his decision to reject Weber’s appeal. The Judge said, “There is ample evidence to support multiple probation violations.”
