Former Patient Sues Kurt Donsbach for Fraud

In 2006, George Ott, who lived in Peekskill, New York, filed suit against Hospital Santa Monica and its founder/director, Kurt Donsbach. The suit charged Donsbach with falsely claiming that his treatments would cure or abate Ott’s kidney cancer. Instead, he became critically ill from a staph infection acquired at the facility. Donsbach, an unlicensed chiropractor, has a long history of civil and criminal wrongdoing. Donsbach told a CNN-TV producer that had he sold the facility and merely returned weekly to provide consultations. However, the clinic’s Web site stated that he personally monitored the progress of every patient. In 2007, the suit was settled with confidential terms.
