Donald W. Barrett, Jr. Pleads Guilty to Criminal Misbranding and Income Tax Evasion
Donald W. Barrett., 36, of Plymouth, Massachusetts, has pled guilty to subscribing to a false tax return and misbranding. The criminal information (shown below) states: Barrett failed to report substantial income he received in 2003 from the sale of two dietary supplements, “Coral Calcium Daily,” and “Supreme Greens with MSM.” He was also charged. In 2003, Barrett violated federal drug laws by distributing infomercials which claimed that Supreme Greens could prevent arthritis and cancer. Barrett has also been pursued by the Federal Trade Commission. In 2009, a federal judge ordered him, an associate, and the corporations through which they marketed their products to (a) pay $48.2 million, (b) refrain from making unsubstantiated claims, and (c) refrain from unauthorized billin.
