Offbeat Dentists Sued for Negligence
Alireza Panahpour, D.D.S., Leigh Erin Connealy, M.D., the South Coast Medical Center for New Medicine (now called the Center for New Medicine), oral pathologist Jerry E. Bouquot, D.D.S., and the University of Texas are being sued for negligence in connection with the treatment of a woman who sought hormonal treatment at the center. The complaint (shown below) states: In 2007, the woman visited the center in Irvine, California for a consultation about “bio-identical hormone balancing” to help her sleep better and alleviate stress. During her appointment with medical staff, she was introduced to Panahpour, with whom she consulted about the potential toxicity of amalgam fillings.
