The Scientific Brief Against Chiropractic

This report was excerpted from the Brief of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of the Province of Quebec submitted in 1963 to the Royal Commission on Chiropractic, which was appointed by the Quebec legislature to study the chiropractic question and make recommendations on the advisability of licensing chiropractors in the province. The brief was prepared by the college in an effort to persuade the Royal Commission that the licensing of chiropractors in Quebec was not in the best interests of the public health. This excerpt was originally published in the September 1966 issue of The New Physician, the journal of the Student American Medical Association. It presents a detailed look at chiropractic shortcomings, some of which still exist.
