Misleading Homeopathic Ad

This ad for Nature’s Way’s “Medicine from Nature” homeopathic products was published in Prevention and other magazines during 1994. It states that “unlike most over-the-counter medicines, Medicine from Nature works in harmony with your own body’s natural defenses and gets to the cause of your illness or discomfort.” This statement is false.

The package labels described these products as “formulas which contain natural substances that are known to be effective in stimulating and supporting the body’s own defense systems and self-healing abilities.” That description is false. In fact, the vast majority of preparations listed in the Homeopathic Pharmacopeia of the United States have not been scientifically tested for effectiveness.
